There is a brand new sample library freebie available from Samplephonics called Sax On The Beach.

Sax On The Beach clocks in at 245 MB and as you might guess is filled with multi-sampled saxophone samples.

Not only does Sax On The Beach have over 400 wav file samples of alto, Baritone, sopranino, Soprano and Tenor saxes you also get kits in all the big sampler formats including Ableton, Logic EXS24, Halion, Native Instruments Kontakt, Motu MachFive, Reason NNXT and SFZ formats.

If you’re like me, you can never have too many samples. For me the sax files may come in handy for some weird sound design experiments. Who knows! Since they’re free grab ’em!

I have a Samplephonics folder in my Samples folder and it is stuffed with free samples of all types. Once you get on their mailing list they’ll regularly send you emails with new freebies.

“Things are heating up here! Sax on the Beach is a completely free, sun kissed collection of multi-sampled saxophone sounds. This virtual brass section contains expertly recorded live instrument samples that are ready mapped across your keyboard and ready to get down with.

One of the other recently offered free sample packs I have downloaded from Samplephonics is Shakuhachi

“The Shakuhachi is an ancient Chinese bamboo flute that was later instroduced to Japan, with a distinctive warm body and thick harmonic character. We’ve wrapped it up into an awesome playable virtual instrument sample library for you to enjoy, absolutely free!

Handy tip – layer up the static sustained notes with a staccato articulation, delay the static track by 50-100ms and allow the classic Shakuhachi articulations to shine through and add character!

Choose from a number of articulations and play around with the pitch to get monstrous sounding organs and pads! The free samples come pre mapped into Ableton Sampler, Kontakt, EXS24, Mach-5, SFV, Halion and Reason NN-XT, each with 4 articulations and multiple round robins and velocities.”

Check out the Samplephonics site and sign up to their list. It’s worth it for all the free samples you can download!
