First off I'd
like to say that I LOVED the Audity 2000. It kicked ass. SO why
the meager 5 star rating?
I couldn't
get a box that worked. TWO - yes 2 Audity 2000's were defective
and ultimately returned to get replaced with the "new and
improved Xtreme Lead-1". Problems with crackling in the
effects, stuck notes when changing presets and worst of all -
LOST patches when the unit was shut down.
The crime is,
this baby was so easy to program and come up with killer all
new sounds... I tweaked hundreds of patches only to find on 2
seperate occasions they were all lost. That sucks.
So, as good
as this Audity 2000 thing was, after 2 defective units the E-mu
people convinced me to switch to the all new and lower priced
Xtreme Lead-1. Yes, it did have all the features of the Audity
2000 along with some brand new improvements, but somewhere inside
of me misses the Audity. It may be psychological but I just can't
tweak sounds as easily on the Xtreme. and the sound set does
not seem quite as good. That is not to say the Xtreme is a bum
piece of gear, on the contrary, it just didn't match the pleasure
I derived from the Audity 2000 when it was working. Also - the
Xtreme works. That counts.

So, the Audity
2000 is just a memory for me at this point, but if you are lucky
enough to get one that works flawlessly we say keep it! Excellent
preset sounds and very easy to roll your own.
